Lets not beat around the bush, Rufus is a tank! He's big in size, personality and you won't find a bigger teddy bear around.
From what we have seen Rufus has a beautiful nature but needs to be around teenagers and above if going to a family. He walks well on lead (but is in a bit of a hurry to get to the dam on hot days with a little pulling), has good recall and is gentle in his demeanor and interactions including taking treats. We do believe Rufus is not good around cats or farm animals and have been unable to confirm that at this point.
His favourite thing to do is swim and he can spend an hour entertaining himself by swimming and paddling around the dam, out for a quick roll in the grass and back in to chase some sticks.
He gets on well with the dogs he has met but does seem to have a bit of barrier frustration when in his pen and other dogs make eye contact when they walk past.
He truly is a wonderful guy and definite hit with the volunteers. He will make a lovely companion but you better make sure you have a big couch first!
