Jazzie has been with us for 10 months now and is really just starting to gain some confidence in her interactions with people. She is definitely more comfortable with women but could potentially warm up to men given patience and time. Jazzie loves water and spending time in our dam paddock, it is her happy place and where we are starting to see her goofy, playful side splashing through the water, bouncing around and just having fun which we love to see. Jazzie seems to bond closely with one person where she feels safe and to be honest it won't happen instantly but will be well worth the time to become part of her inner circle. Having a gentle existing dog would be a real plus for Jazzie as she will watch and take her cues from them. She will also play once she feels comfortable. We have included Jazzie's background below as it goes some way toward explaining her reserved manner.
Jazzie was found by a farmer near Taloumbi, the day before Cyclone Alfred hit. He had been trying to catch her for over a week. It was a very wet Friday afternoon and we were not sure whether we could get through due to flooding but we did. we gently cornered her, put a collar and lead and lead her to the car. Got her in and carefully drove back just missing the road closures behind us as we got through. She spent the first week or so in the house getting to know everyone as she was very shy and timid. She has struggled to interact with people initially being quite fearful and is now starting to blossom.
